2018 BAYFIELD AREA EVENTS
Bayfield was voted, “The Best Little Town in the Midwest” by the Chicago Tribune. And for good reason. We’re proud that we have no stop lights or fast food chains in town. We’ve got the charm of Door County, without the crowds and 90% less fudge shops; our fudge shop Sweet Sailing is all you’ll ever need. The Big Boss here of course is: The Lake. Superior is truly superior; you don’t find these crystal clear blue and emerald waters on any of the other Great Lakes. And our Lake comes accessorized with a crown of jewels; the Apostle Islands.
The Bayfield Chamber of Commerce, along with many dedicated individuals, have created and actively promote a vibrant four-season itinerary of events that celebrate the diversity and spirit of the area. Visitors can actively engage in a plethora of outdoor activities, concerts and art fairs or leisurely relax on a beach, pick a few berries up in the orchards or enjoy a summer beverage on the deck of the Bayfield Inn.
The best way for us to hook you up with a comprehensive listing of area events and businesses is by referring you directly to the Bayfield Chamber of Commerce website: www.bayfield.org On an ongoing basis, we will feature events on this page as well as on Facebook – so be sure to check back for those.
- Apostle Islands Sled Dog Race: February 3-4
- Snowshoeing & Dog Sledding are great all winter as long as the snow lasts!
- Ice Caves: The sea caves at Meyers Road, one of the most highly visited areas by kayakers in the summer, are frozen over with safe ice for the first time since 2009. This spectacular occurrence is unique and truly worthy of a visit up here in the winter.
