January 30 - February 6
Yoga is an age-old practice that brings calmness, flexibility and balance to the practitioner. Many people are accustomed to doing Yoga in a studio. On this Living Adventure program, you'll enjoy also practicing outside, under a canopy of palms where the rhythms of gentle breezes and waves synchronize with body, mind and spirit.
One of the beauties of yoga is it's versatility.
Each person meets the experience where they
wish, whether it's through a simple desire
for greater flexibility or as a mechanism
to let go of our daily preoccupations and
find time to be in our own eternal radiance.
The warmth, freedom and inspiration of the
tropics and our private location on the
Caribbean sea provide an ideal backdrop
for deepening your practice and experiencing
the profound peace from yoga. Those exploring
yoga for the first time enjoy the quiet,
supportive atmosphere of Rancho Caphe Ha.
Throughout the week, morning and evening
yoga, breathing and movement sessions intermingle
with outdoor activities of your choice;
including sea kayaking, snorkeling, beach
walking, exploring and relaxing in hammocks.
Midweek we travel to a Mayan archeological
site and have the opportunity to swim and
snorkel in a 'cenote'; an enchanting freshwater
pool sacred to the ancient and modern Mayans.
Jackie Dobrinska
We are excited and honored this year that
yoga coach Jackie Dobrinska RYT joins our
Artful Adventure faculty. Jackie has trained
and teaches in the ParaYoga style. Para
Yoga focuses on intelligent sequencing,
movement of energy, pranayama breath work
and accessible meditation techniques to
bring students to peaceful clarity and a
sense of awakening. In addition and complementary
to her yoga coaching, Jackie is a certified
Ayurvedic consultant, physical trainer and
herbalist. She leads yoga workshops and
student yoga teacher trainings in the southeast
where she hales, and is currently earning
her Masters and Ph.D in Holistic Health
and Ministry.
Leticia
Rioja Medina A long time Living
Adventure friend, Leticia has worked with
multiple Living Adventure trips including
Yoga, Movement, and Women's trips. She brings
aspects of Mayan and Nahuatl cultures to
the week. Opening and closing ceremonies
are marked with the deep beat of her 'grandmother'
drum and the piney aroma of traditional
copal incense. Leticia is a professional
singer and dancer and has recently completed
her certification as a yoga teacher. A focus
of her education was the interpretation,
through movement, of meditative poses found
on glyphs in ancient Mayan archeological
sites.
Trip guests enjoy the best of both worlds
with Jackie and Leticia; their dynamic blend
of cultural and technical perspectives brings
depth and balance to a fun and spirited
week of tropical adventure. Stretch your
body and let your imagination go wild!

| Day 1 |
Fly to Cancun and leave high impact tourism behind. The first night is spent at beautiful
Posada Mariposa in the fun beachside resort town of Playa Del Carmen. |
| Day 2 |
Sunday morning: breakfast at 100% Natural restaurant in Playa Del Carmen. We’ll
introduce the group and resource people, hear your trip expectations and take a look at the

we’ll pick up tamales for a quick lunch, buy ice and a few last items before heading down
the dirt road to Rancho Caphe Ha, our home for the week in the Sian Ka'an Biosphere
Reserve. Mayan for "Where The Sky Is Born", this million-acre national park is abundant
with indigenous flora and fauna and Mayan archeological sites. We’ll arrive midafternoon;
settle in, SWIM (!), familiarize you with the area, and the unwinding begins. |
| Day 3-7 |
A mix of activities designed each day according to Yoga sessions, weather and
recreational pursuits. We have a 1-2 hour Yoga session each morning before breakfast. We
also get together for a Yoga session in the late afternoon before dinner. Private or small
group sessions with Beth and Leticia are woven into the days as we go.
Wednesdays are awesome tour days! We head out of Rancho Caphe Ha early in the
morning and return typically around 10:00 pm.
WEDNESDAY OUTING: MAYAN SITE & CENOTES |
| Day 8 |
An early start from Rancho Caphe Ha. We’ll travel back to Playa Del Carmen in time to
